You sly thing, you.
There are a lot of exciting things on the horizon.
You will be hearing all about it soon.
Very soon.

Stay tuned.

Working woman.

Today I'm over at the charming Whitney's Between the Lines.
If any of you lovelies need wardrobe
 inspiration that's office appropriate, Whitney's your gal.

Here's her sweet post:

Women Who Work - Meet Elizabeth!
I knew I had to feature Elizabeth when I saw her adorable blog Book of Leisure
She has an adorable, relatable, yet unique sense of professional style.

Oh, and I forgot to mention...she's drop dead gorgeous.

1. What is your job?
I’m a fine arts teacher. I teach choir and drama at our elementary, middle, and high school campuses. Needless to say, my days are quite busy! When I’m not in the classroom you’ll find me sharing bits of my life at Book of Leisure.

 2. Do you have a dress code? How does that define how you dress to work?
Our faculty dress code is pretty typical to that of any work place, professional and non-revealing. {I will say there was a brief period of mourning when skinny pants were banned}. A dress code can sometimes feel confining, but I try to find ways to incorporate my own personal style through accessories and bright colors. I love getting dressed up for school each day! I feel much more prepared for the day and can even tell that the kids respond with better classroom behavior.

3. What challenges do you face (from your job) in terms of style?
I like to have a lot of fun with my wardrobe. There are definitely times I have to “pull the reins back” a bit. The best balance I have found for myself is sticking with basic professional-dress staples, but incorporating lots of color and pattern. I also have to consider clothing that will allow plenty of movement since I also teach the young kiddos.

4. What are your closet staples?
-Blazers
-Basic dress pants
-Cropped pants
-Cardigans
{I have all of these items in neutrals, as well as bright colors and bold patterns to add a touch of “myself”}
-and last but certainly not least, Accessories {I’m a jewelry maniac. More is more in my opinion!}

If Whitney's teaching skills are as marvelous as her blog, then those kids are in good hands.
Thanks again Whitney for having me!
