The basics you need for your upcoming vacay.

Top: Banana Republic, c/o; Shorts: ASOS; Wedges: Nordstrom; Clutch: Accessory Concierge, c/o

What. A. Week.
Things have not stopped here lately between traveling,
J's work schedule, and spring/Easter activities for Hugh.
I shuttled both of the kids to their doctor checkups yesterday
and with the exception of V's multiple shots {never fun},
we had great appointments- always such a blessing.

We traveled down to the Florida coast with my family a couple of weeks ago.
{I'll share some of those photos soon}
My sister and her fam all got the flu a couple of days prior so
they unfortunately didn't get to come:(
It ended up being my parents, my brother and his crew, and us four.
It was such a great time. Now that we all have kids,
seeing everyone play together is the best!

In today's post I wanted to share with you a few basics I always love to wear when I'm traveling:

I'm all about adorable, simple details.
The Banana Republic top above is low key but still feels very put together,
with its stripes {super on-trend this season} and bow-back.

2) A great pair of shorts.
If I'm going casual, for me it's a great pair of cut-offs.
I know that's not everyone's cup of tea so find whatever
pair makes you feel your best!

3) A fun clutch.
Summer is the perfect time to throw a bright, festive clutch in the mix.
Think embroidery, tassels, and pom-poms.

4) Wedges.
This items will forevermore be included for years to come.
Go invest in a good pair now.
I love the pair I'm wearing above!
Even though they add a lot of height, they're sooo comfortable.
You could wear these guys all day.

5) A statement earring.
Accessories are the best way to add a little punch to
a low key outfit, and earrings are no exception.
I adore the pair in this look because they incorporate a lot of color,
making them work with pretty much everything in my closet:)

Hope that helps a little bit the next time you're packing for that upcoming vacation.
As always, shoot me any questions you may have!
Are there any other wardrobe staples you consider a travel must-have?

Five transitional pieces for spring with Banana Republic.

Top: Banana Republic, c/o; Denim: Levis; Heels: similar hereClutch: Clare V; Sunnies: Vici, c/o

So pumped that it is finally starting to feel like spring around here!
I have been loving playing with the kids every afternoon after we pick up Hugh from school.
You probably already know this if you've been keeping up with my Instagram stories, haha.

As we are transitioning our closets to spring,
I wanted to share with you guys a few items that I will
be leaning on to step into the warmer months.

1) A flowy top:
Like this great color from Banana Republic.
A flowy top is easy for layering as the weather makes up its mind.
Go for a bold color or pretty print to shake things up for your spring closet.

2) High waisted denim:
I could not be more excited about this trend.
It's like the fashion world knew I just had a baby
and needed to conveniently cover things up, lol.

3) Statement clutch:
A statement clutch is always a great, versatile way to pack an extra punch to an outfit.
The one I'm sporting above has been a great piece that I have adored year round.

4) Mirrored sunnies:
This is another trend I can totally get on board with.
Such a fun, fresh take on sunglasses as we bounce into spring.

5) Versatile shoe:
The great thing about a versatile shoe is that it helps balance
out a look if you have a lot of trends going on.
My nude heels have been an awesome purchase- I wear them every season
and they literally go with everything.

What pieces do you guys rely on when you are trying to make the transition into a new season?

I would also really love to hear what trends everyone is excited for over the next few months...

Lemme know!

A peek at Violet's nursery.

Glider: Delta Children, Crib: Bratt Decor, Bedding: Bratt DecorPaper Flowers: KM Hallberg Design
Swan Print: Schmooks; Wooden Name Sign: Blessed Blondies; Floral Garland: Baker Blossoms

I'll be honest,
I developed quite a love/hate relationship with Violet's nursery the past few months, lol.
Don't get me wrong, I adored her crib, Delta Children glider, and other decor;
but there were many road bumps encountered along the way putting this room together.

Since South Carolina wasn't a permanent stop for our family we decided to rent.
I really loved our house but the entire upstairs was a drabby, nude color.
And the carpet. Ohhh man, the carpet:/
Anyway, I kind of just had to do the best I could working with all
of that when we began doing her room.

As soon as we started getting what you see situated in the pictures above,
we received the news that Jonathan's job would be bringing us back to Alabama.

So we didn't fully complete everything but I did want to
share the progress of what we did get to do.
And now most of this is currently sitting in boxes in her new room in AL {ha}.

We finally have most of the house settled since moving so now her room is next on the list.
I'll try to share more once it's done!

Thanks as always for stopping by and have a great Friday, guys!
xoxo

Back at it and easing into spring.

Dress, BootiesBag: c/o Tommy Bahama

Here we go!
My first post since Violet's birth.
Adjusting to life with two kiddos has been a quite a trip.
The minute I think I have this parenting-two-kids-gig
under control one of them is sure to throw me a curve ball;)
We're settling though...slowly but surely.

I'm excited to jump back into the blog in this Tommy Bahama chambray dress.
My body is still trying to get back to itself, so dresses have been a great staple lately.
Not to mention this dress is super comfy yet you still look put together.
Win, win.
Right now is a great time to take advantage- all dresses are currently on sale until Feb. 21!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I'm excited to continue sharing with you guys a little peek into our new life of four:)

Nursery Bedding Sneak Peek

Greetings long lost friends!
I have been deafeningly silent here since Violet's arrival.
To say a lot has been happening would be the ultimate understatement.
I plan to do a recap of all that's been going on with our family in another post.
For today, I wanted to squeeze in a quick post sharing the details of V's nursery bedding.
I'll be doing a later post of full nursery details but since I received
a lot of questions regarding my Instagram post of her crib I wanted to go ahead
and share this here since her Bratt Decor crib is currently on sale!

Thank you guys again for all of the sweet messages the past few weeks.
We're slowly starting to settle into life as a family of four.
Excited to share this next stage of our little lives:)
