I frequently ask what I did with myself, my time, before I had Hugh.
It's amazing how in an instant, the moment they're born, they become the center of your universe.
Your life that once revolved around yourself and your husband
now revolves around this tiny, new being.
Honest moment. When Hugh was born I was super overwhelmed at the
idea of being completely responsible for another human.
These kids don't come with manuals, unfortunately.
What is so awesome though is that as they grow, you grow too.
Each day I grew more into a mom.
Don't get me wrong, I have my moments. Quite often, actually.
But what was once overwhelming is now second nature,
I really don't remember life any other way before this.
Now Hugh will soon be two {craaazy}.
I kind of feel like we are starting all over again because these toddler years, y'all.
They're something else. Again, these kids don't come with manuals.
Staying at home full time, the days can get especially long.
95% of the day is multitasking. Hugh on my hip, Hugh on my leg; while I unload the
dishwasher, fold laundry, reply to emails, you get the idea;)
One part of our daily routine that has become really great is
setting aside an hour or so in the afternoon to spend one on one time together.
No distractions, no cell phones, just us.
That's my #motherspromise to this growing boy.
That despite how crazy and hectic each day is,
carving out that time in the day for Hugh will always be a priority.
If you're like me, coming up with new activities to do with your toddler can be tricky.
I wanted to share a few free/cost effective things that we have enjoyed:
Visit your local plant nursery
They can get down, run and you won't feel bad about it! Just make sure they don't eat any plants;)
Bath time
A.k.a. my go-to if we're stuck in the house and the clock isn't moving fast enough.
Sidewalk chalk
If your toddler is anything like mine then they love to draw!
Visit a construction site
Find a safe spot to observe and your kid will go crazy.
Hugh and dump trucks...like a moth to the flame.
Blowing bubbles
Best 99 cent investment ever.
*This post was sponsored by Pampers Premium in partnership with Walmart,
but all opinions are completely my own*
I have long been a Pampers fan. It's always been our diaper of
choice since we brought Hugh home from the hospital.
Pampers Premium Care {available at Walmart and Walmart.com}
is fantastic due to its 5 star skin care rating.
They're hypoallergenic and contain a wetness indicator, unique absorb away liner,
breathable inside and out, along with extra absorb channels.
Perfect choice for your little one's bum!
To my other mamas out there, I would love to hear your #motherspromise.
Is there any way you display it so that you don't lose sight of it?
